    it's fascinating to arrive at this after what was a solid decade of NBC Hannibal obsession, and i'm not exaggerating; my old tumblr features Will Graham posts with such tags as "my sweet angel" and "precious lil will please be okay." and i think that show encourages that kind of personal obsession, given how psychological and therapy-focused it is, but in contrast what i love HERE is how comparatively process-driven this is. leans hard on its technical prowess and sense of atmosphere; feels in many ways like a dialogue between the process of filmmaking (seeing) and both killing and sleuthing: the opportunity to become God

    so absurdly hollow it’s almost laughable. dialogue that sounds more like a poorly written spoken word poem than anything anyone would say ever (other than maybe students at fucking Brown University, which, i’m sorry, these women would not be spouting feminist theory about power in their circumstance and with their level of education). women sure are talking but is a single one of them a real, full-rounded character? what even is there here to latch onto other than rupi kaur-isms? truly the epitome of telling instead of showing. borderline offensive how poorly this does justice to the incredibly sensitive themes and stories at hand.
