This 4K restoration is outrageous. I don't know how many times I've seen this film, and this feels like the first time I'm really seeing it. I think I’ve been waiting my whole life to see an Ingrid Bergman glamor shot in HDR.

Casablanca is (of course) one of the great scripts of cinema history with iconic dialogue and characters, but what really dazzled me on this viewing was the incredible mise-en-scène. There is such a cohesive feel to the world it builds with intricate sets and blocking, each shot and scene reinforcing the claustrophobia and sense of being trapped in this liminal place, the world outside at war, everything at stake.
