    It's really a shame that this film has been pigeon-holed into the category of horror and people trashing it because it doesn't live up to that hasty categorization. Midsommar is NOT a horror film. Horror films are necessarily contrived, in that they don't follow a realistic structure.     A stunning film mostly concerned with the theme of duality, particularly within character. Yet, this concept is expressed beyond the conflict Nina endures, but within the other elements of filmmaking. Most obviously is the costuming of Nina in light-colored clothes and those in opposition/engagement with in dark colors.
