"Is it dangerous out there?"- Jojo
"Extremely"- Rosie
Jojo Rabbit is a beautiful film about letting go of hatred told through the eyes of a ten-year-old nazi. While not flawless by any means, this is a movie that NEEDS to be seen. Even if you don't end up liking it or loving it as much as I did I implore people not to shy away from this movie simply because of its satirical subject matter.
I went into this knowing full well that it was a trap. I just KNEW that I would end up crying, mainly cause I'm an emotional wreck with art but that's beside the point. Taika doesn't shy away from the horrors of WW2, which is good. But at the end of the movie, after everything that happens, there's hope. Hope that tomorrow will be better. And that's the kind of story our world needs every once in a while.
Go support this movie. Support daring projects.
And remember, "Fuck you, Hitler".
