Another straight to VOD Cage film, another inept piece of garbage!

Its got it all! Hilarious CGI animals, an awful Suicide Squad-esque color palette enough to make you physically ill, and a sluggish pace even more off putting than the films esthetic.

It baffles me how incompetent the people that make these Cage movies are. At least this one doesn’t completely underutilize him. I’ve seen worse.

    It Could Happen to You

I loved this film because it perfectly captured the spirit and saccharin of a studio comedy out of the 30s or 40s. From the city setting, all the way to the cartoonishly evil performance from Rosie Perez. If made back then, Frank Capra would’ve directed, probably starring Gary Cooper or Cary Grant.

    Really emotional piece.

The thing I liked most about Marriage Story was its objective portrayal of things (or at least that’s how I interpreted it, seeing as I have never been married or in a collapsing relationship.) There’s pretty much an equal amount of time given to both Charlie and Nicole that focuses on their individual flaws, and their flaws as a couple. It also paints a clear picture of why they fell in love with each other vs. why their relationship collapsed.

    The performances speak for themselves.

I also really loved the decision to shoot it on film.

Yorgos “wide angles” Lanthimos paints a beautiful, strange, and deep dark comedy.
The set design, music, and costuming is stunning.
All however, is tied together by some great performances.
