Wow, it has been a journey and a half to make it to this movie and I'm honestly glad that it has been because it makes me appreciate the opportunity to finally see it that much more. The closest this was showing to me in theaters was 3 hours away and it was for a very limited time so I didn't have the chance to experience it the way I wanted to. I waited and waited, not giving in to…

Trauma is at the forefront of The Invitation, both the movie and the "movement" it's about. Past things that have helped mold and shape us into the person we are, despite their horrifying effects, are things that can either make us stronger or overwhelm us. Exactly how I like my fairytales: dark and weird af. Just like with Hereditary, the Oscars can't handle all this crazy. A nomination for makeup effects and that's it? Did they actually watch the film or just skim through the trailer? What a shame because Border is much deeper than that. It's a commentary on how the world judges those that are different and an ode to misfits and outcasts everywhere. This is one that'll sneak into your heart if you let it.

I really appreciate the appreciation Guadagnino has for the human body. Suspiria is as much a love letter to our nerves and blood and bones as it is to its predecessor. Dancers have an understanding of their body and what it can and can't do more than any other person. I'm hardcore into yoga and I can definitely relate to that. There are moments that I stretch and contort my body and elevate my game and it's almost orgasmic. Guadagnino illustrates this in the moves of the dancers and the song that is the dance and it's so romantic and so devastating.

So apparently some people fainted while watching this movie? What kind of church lady dramatics? I've seen more grotesque goings-on at Walmart on a busy afternoon.

Y'all need to just come to terms with the fact that Kristen Stewart is setting herself up to become the best and most versatile actress of her generation.
