When did Horrible Histories get so raunchy and so lesbian?
This is a foul mouthed, bitter love story from writer of the weird Yorgos Lanthimos, passive aggressive power dynamics that will have you screaming ‘cunt’ from the highest mountain. A tour de force of acting across the board, who knew Nicholas Hoult had so much relentless sass? That boy continues to surprise me. Stone, Weisz and Colman are all immaculate in their performances. This feels like The Handmaiden meets Daddy’s Home set in 18th century England with more fingering and less Mark Whalberg doing chin ups.
