Once Upon a Time in America

I loved it. I thought the first half was definitely the best and I loved the scenes of them as children. The soundtrack was top notch too! If I hadn't got a little confused in the final 45 minutes then it would have been a 5 star for me but overall a great pick this week in the lebronese film club from Iggy

Disclaimer - writing this review 2 weeks after watching the film so a little generic - also had half a xan.

I thought the first half was great. Very tense like uncut gems building the tension as every scene went on. I loved the soundtrack and that taxi ride scene as he goes to soho was brilliant. I thought the second half let it down though and it became a bit repetitive and he was annoying me with the decisions he was making. After one or two things going wrong I'm finding my way back home rather than ending up in…

I really enjoyed this film and experienced a roller coaster of emotions. The soundtrack was brilliant too. There wasn't one character I didn't like and it felt really real - I love the way they filmed certain scenes too

Fuck me that was good. I've increased it by another half a fucking star since I'm walking round the living room in my fucking boxers, talking to myself like I'm ray fucking winstone. My hearts still racing from second fucking half of the film.

An absolute classic which I can't believe I've not seen until now.

I like Steve carrell and felt sorry for his character.

As for the kid. I didn't really sympathise with him. Kid was smart had things going for him so wasn't really sure what brought him that low.

I only knew it was a true story right at the end.
Was sort of waiting for something mad to happen the entire film.  Doesn't surprise me it was a true story as not a lot happened and very much the story of an addict from a well off family.

    The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

I liked one or two of the storylines but overall probably disliked more than i liked. They've tried to make a feel good movie combing two cultures with characters who've not come across each others culture before but they work together to solve each others problems. It certainly had potential but overall a little cheesy and didn't feel massively real. I downgraded the rating from a 2.5 to a 2 as i wrote this review.

Really enjoyed this film. I liked seeing a culture (indian culture) that I don't tend to come into contact with very often in my real life.
