Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

The fight choreography and action sequences were unlike any previous MCU entries. The homage(s) to martial arts cinema was stellar. Tony Leung killed it as the Mandarin, who in my opinion was more of a tragic villain of circumstance after the unexpected death of his wife. It was real cool to have the Ten Rings organization finally be more fleshed out after having been introduced all the way back in the first Iron Man (2008). My IMAX theater showing was packed, and it was definitely worth seeing on the big screen and to see how others in the audience reacted to this film.

    ★★★★½

When compared to the Suicide Squad film released back in 2016, this is in my opinion what I think a live-action film adaptation of the Suicide Squad concept and characters involved should have always been from the get-go. Overall, it's a great piece of escapist cinema in the superhero genre.
