    I get that Shivers is a satire but that still doesn't excuse the bad filmmaking. If this film didn't have the name "Cronenberg" attached to it, it would be seen today as just another crap movie from the 70s.

    Rob Zombie's directorial debut is a pastiche of horror comedy and slasher films. Zombie pays homage to 70s hixploitation films like Tobe Hooper's Texas Chain Saw Massacre (both I and II) and Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes while at the same time going for a campy, Rocky Horror style feel.
