The Dinner Scene

I love the classic "dinner scene" because its a great way to stop for reflection and create a nerve in the story. Establish and immerse on the characters, make it awkward, unpleasant or to do something extreme and unexpectedly. Is an intimate psychogical device which becomes incredibly effective on film.

Here are some of my favorites:

  • The Square
  • Elle
  • Perfect Strangers
  • Django Unchained
  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
  • Kill List
  • Sicario
  • American Beauty
  • Get Out
  • The Invitation
  • Deadfall
  • Hereditary
  • The Celebration
  • Nothing to Hide
  • Melancholia
  • Whiplash
