Freddie Smith’s review published on Letterboxd:
They had us in the first act, not gonna lie.
They had us in the second act too, not gonna lie.
Jodie Comer had us in the final act because she's fucking phenomenal.
I started working next to a 2 screen cinema and when I finished I saw there was a showing in 20 minutes and the only thing I knew was that this film flopped hard, had no marketing, but yet great review scores on Letterboxd and IMDb. I see why now lmao
Probably going to be one of the most underrated films of the year. The cast are amazing. Adam Driver as a 14th century incel makes for possibly the quickest 'hey this guy is alright' to 'I want to tear his throat out with my teeth and fill the hole with dog shit' ever.
The use of perspective is so gripping as well, showing the same events in various ways and portraying characters in completely opposite lights.
Good job Ridley.
