April Sci-Fi Marathon 5: Who Controls the Future?

There are a couple of news events in the past year that have led me to the question found in the title. One of them is the legal case that occurred over a potential crime in space. Another is Elon Musk's remarks about Mars colonization and what would basically amount to indentured servitude. And there's also Starlink and the issues it is causing for astronomers. There's also the continued Hong Kong protests and the strategies protestors have developed to fight government surveillance. So this year, I want to focus on the question of who controls the future, what that control means, and if that can be changed.
