Paul Norman’s review published on Letterboxd:
#34 October Horror Movie Challenge.
I jump back and forth on whether to like the first Strangers or not. Putting that movie completely aside to review this is easy. Yes, it is a lot more or the same. What was drawn out in the original tends to get right to the point with this one.
What I liked:
Great cast, a retro soundtrack that I wasn’t sure was going to work but did, almost no jump scares (just dread scares), some pretty drawn out kills, and some lush colors for a night movie.
What I didn’t like:
Weak character development and the final final scene. No best thing ever moments which made me back off from a 4.5.
