Fade to Black

Fade to Black

Our main character Eric is a movie addict. He spends every waking moment watching old films, quoting movies and spouting movie trivia. Living with his aunt he is constantly berated that he is wasting his life so he pushes her wheelchair down the stairs. On his own he gets up to no good commiting acts of revenge against his enemies while stalking a Marilyn Monroe look alike.

This is a cheesy little flick that has a decent concept but really overdoes it with the movie references. Pretty much everything out of Eric's mouth is a movie quote and this becomes annoying pretty quick. Mickey Rourke appears in one of his first movie appearances in a small part. So does Tim Thomerson (Trancers) who despite being a professor who works out of a police station still finds time to snort cocaine and whale on the harmonica. Has some charms but overall doesn't work and is badly shot (I counted two boom mics.)
