Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 2022

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Really feels like we’re done with the whole “phase” thing and would rather just do soulless cameo movies now. At least this one had Raimi doing his thing but still felt like an assembly line movie that kinda screwed up all the stuff I was excited for in the next several movies just like NWH did

easily the worst marvel movie ever made and one of the worst movies I've seen in quite a while. Its philosophical questions are brainless, character motivations are nonsensical, the story is a mess. It has a lot of the same problems most marvel movies do with a more bloated cast of forgettable characters and also decides to hinge its core conflict on a moral question that the movie itself can't make any clear sense of. I would kill this movie with hammers if I could

Loved the horror vibes Raimi brought to this. It was a bit all over the place and exposition-heavy early on but once everything is in place, it flies.

The best MCU entry since Thor Ragnarok, which isn't an accident because that's the last time an MCU director felt like they were in their bag. Like Taika Waititi on Thor, Sam Raimi breathes new life into not only the character of Doctor Strange but the MCU as a whole.

Multiverse of Madness has real art direction, takes real chances, and has a real point of view. I don't doubt that the cracked doors Disney assuredly placed in the film…

This is one of my favourite afternoon movies 🤫

JGL does a great job even though his makeup can be a lil distracting lol. Tbh all the performances are SO WELL DONE!!!!
Paul Dano levitating a quarter while looking like a shitty future magician is so funny to me.

a movie about cycles of violence in one cycle. a clockwork masterpiece.

for all that the movie insists that the time travel mechanics DON'T MATTER (which i think is smart from a storytelling perspective), they do matter in the sense that they are narratively coherent, which is all that matters. it's a movie about time travel but not really, so Joe's right. it doesn't matter.

i don't know if anyone other than Rian Johnson could have made this movie. it's…
