    Tetsuo: The Iron Man

64 minutes of metal sexual body horror injected straight into you via a 20 inch power drill dick.

I love everything about this. The low budget forces so many creative tricks with effects/editing/camera work that is so impressive.

They rhythmic industrial soundtrack surges the film ahead to its anime power battle conclusion.

I had an immense amount of fun with this and now need to seek out people who don't mind the sound of screw threads on teeth to watch it with.

    The Sadness

Respect the effects work on this but The Sadness is just an edgelord ripoff of the Crossed comic books from Garth Ennis with somehow even less nuance.

Extremely uneven in its tone which leads to one or two moments that are well done but up against a plethora of violence that is numb and boring those feel like a happy accident.

    It becomes clear later…

    Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

I probably saw Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 4 times in the theater back in 2000 when it first came out. I was taking Mandarin in school at the time and we were all very excited to see it, to listen to it and to be immersed in it.

Back then the action was what stood out to me. Masterfully choreographed and able to balance a whimsical and serious tone the whole time all while adding to the story and the…
