One star for the boobs, one star for the music.

  • Love Me Deadly

    Love Me Deadly

This was released the same year as THE EXORCIST. Let that sink in.

  • Ghost Ship

    Ghost Ship

Bad, bad, bad. One star for one of the most excellent openings to a horror film. After that, this movie capsizes.

  • Hostel: Part II

    Hostel: Part II

I liked this one, but nowhere near as much as the original.

  • Identity

Words cannot describe how much I hate this film, and for Michael Cooney's plagiarism.

  • Anaconda

Laughable. My favorite part was seeing Jon Voight get eaten by the giant reptile, only to be spit out whole and winking at the camera.

  • The Shining

    The Shining

While more true to the source material, it just didn't keep my attention nor have the visual flair or acting of the Kubrick version. Rebecca De Mornay is much easier on the eyes than Shelley Duvall as Wendy, and the hedge animals and firehose scenes are welcome. Another plus was King's cameo as the leader of the "Gage Creed Orchestra."

  • Red Dragon

    Red Dragon

I thought that this was much better than Michael Mann's laughably bad MANHUNTER.

  • Valentine

One of the worst big-budget slasher films I'd ever seen. Bad screenwriting, poor acting, and a laughably predictable killer.

I gave this a whole star because I'm in love with Denise Richards.

  • Poltergeist III

    Poltergeist III

A visual train wreck of a film, which is somehow worse than Part 2.

  • Summer of Sam

    Summer of Sam

The only Spike Lee film I have ever liked, possibly because I grew up in and remember 1977 New York City, when Berkowitz was on his rampage, the sweltering heatwave, and subsequent blackout which took down the entire city.

  • Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare

    Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare

I had a lot of fun with this entry in the series, and do not think it deserves the hatred it gets.
