I’m hard pressed to think of a funnier scene from a film in the 21st century than Paul Rudd dealing with his food tray. And then he follows it up with that AMAZING double take in the finale.
So many actors giving their career best comedic performances in this one. With no hyperbole, this is one of the best comedies of all time.

A four hour historical/romantic/musical film about a sport I have zero knowledge of, and I am invested in every minute of it, and all the dozen plus players.
They somehow manage to include nearly every trope of a sports movie - getting a team of misfits together, learning the ropes, training montage, other team playing dirty - and it never once feels hackneyed. They even have a "Well, there's nothing in the rule book..." scene! It was honestly a greatest…

I almost watched this during Halloween, and decided to hold off and include it in my Christmas run. That was the right decision. The only lights on in my house are the tree and assorted Christmas lights, with my tree clearly reflected in the corner of my screen at points. My wife went to bed early - “she’s asleep upstairs!”. Every now and then one of my cats heard the rain outside hit the chimney and looked up - the…

My first Billy Wilder movie, and I may have spoiled any of the others for how charming this one was (although, looking through his filmography, there are still some certified classics in there I've somehow yet to see, so who knows...).
Given the premise and the time, I was fully expecting this to turn into some sort of madcap series of coincidences and misunderstandings that played out like a film version of Three's Company, but it's humor is less focused…

Yeah, I know it’s A Christmas Story for Gen X, but it worked for me and my wife because we had fun watching it. As soon as they introduced a kid who was known for making things up, I turned to my wife and said he’d have a story about his uncle working at Nintendo - everyone had that friend. Nice use of “Town Called Malice”, too.
