Jake Isgar’s review published on Letterboxd:
Most Trek features either involve nods to the cast being old as hell or the ship blowing up; INSURRECTION is no exception to the former. One key aspect that makes this feel like a series ep -- besides paeans to the Prime Directive or Starfleet Admirals Who Just Don't Get It -- is its high-key chaste horniness. Troi shaving Riker in a bathtub doesn't hit the high marks of Geordi falling in love with a holodeck facsimile of an engineer or Bev's encounter with an 800-year-old Scottish ghost, though the PG 'shipping has its charms.
While this plays like a two-parter with one episode's worth of story, "Two Take" Frakes has a breeziness to his direction that keeps the proceedings moving. I'd like to believe that Clint watched this before making SPACE COWBOYS.
