Let me start off by saying the UNRATED version is way better than the PG-13 theatrical release.
For better or worse, those F bombs by John McClane are arguably in the very fiber of his being and without them, it doesn’t feel true to his character.
The movie itself is super far-fetched — more than I like but I’ll admit, it was great to see McClane back in action again.
The concept of cyber terrorism is a pretty scary thing, considering all the things in society that rely on computing and the movie highlights those for a non-techs to understand.
There’s a healthy balance of practical and digital effects and I appreciate that.
I’ve got such nostalgia for the original ’Die Hard’ films that it’s difficult for me to put this one in my top 3 but it comes close I think.
