The baddest Dumpling in town
WB: Let's bring in someone to take over this film that is as far away from Snyder in terms of style as we possibly can, They have to be on the complete opposite side of the spectrum
Smart person: But won't that make for a conflicting film that shies away from the identity of this DC Film universe?
WB: .. Nahhh we will be just fine.
And they weren't fine, WB once again fucked things up.
It still amazes me how visually uninteresting this film is when compared to BvS.
Solo is an old fashioned Adventure film that stays comfortable and safe on a journey that could have benefited from taking an unexpected route. Maybe some ambitious travelling would have elevated this fun ride to more than just that.
But I am happy with what we got, the most important aspect to this film was the casting of Han Solo. And they aced it in that department, Alden Ehrenreich perfectly embodies our favorite smuggler in every way imaginable. Every time he smiled, I did too.
This movie is very darkly lit most of the time which gets a little frustrating after a while.
