Pan's Labyrinth

Pan's Labyrinth ★★★★★

Wish I could somehow remain blissfully unaware of del Toro’s 2007 announcement about a potential Pan’s Labyrinth sequel..

“The Devil’s Backbone and adult fairy tale Pan’s Labyrinth are most certainly considered companion pieces. A third film to round out what del Toro is calling a “trilogy” is in the early stages with The Orphanage‘s Sergio Sánchez writing. In November 2007, del Toro confirmed that a sequel, entitled “3993” was in production. However, del Toro scrapped the project after deciding to direct Hellboy II: The Golden Army.”

Hopefully del Toro will one day consider bringing “3993” back to life.. I can only imagine how fantastical it would be!
