Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

    ★★★★½

I will admit that I went into this with some baggage, polarised by what Rian did with The Last Jedi and thought the first Knives Out was simply 'just ok' - but very happy to report that not only was I thoroughly entertained and wowed by Glass Onion but also felt that it exceeded the original with an impossibly airtight script, memorable characters, a joyously fun single-location set and an unbelievable amount of clever setups and payoffs in Rian's latest…

    Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

    ★★★

It’s possible I've missed the overall message of the movie or that it warrants a longer discourse with other film enthusiasts, but on the first watch this was rather underwhelming for me. Dark Phoenix

Ok I’ve read most of the reviews guys, and I’m not sure what to tell you coz ...

I REALLY, REALLY LIKED DARK PHOENIX.

    Ok dang I’m in trouble.

First of, a massive improvement over Apocalypse. But also so different compared to any other superhero movies this year. Simon Kinberg really dialed back the CG, focusing less on spectacle & more on intimate, powerful character-driven drama. James McAvoy & Michael Fassbender are splendid as always. Both of them have incredible chemistry & continue to be…
