    Fight, Zatoichi, Fight

    ★★★★★

The 8th Zatoichi film brings back original director Kenji Misumi & Godzilla composer Akira Ifukube, & along with them a compelling narrative that most closely captures the brilliant & layered character study of the first film.

The plot sees Zatoichi on a quest with a baby toddler which has to be blueprint that forms the basis of the Lone Wolf & Cub series which Shintaro Katsu himself produced & four of the films directed by Misumi himself.

Once again the film utilises a classic staple…

Ok I’ve read most of the reviews guys, and I’m not sure what to tell you coz ...

I REALLY, REALLY LIKED DARK PHOENIX.

    Ok dang I’m in trouble.

First of, a massive improvement over Apocalypse. But also so different compared to any other superhero movies this year. Simon Kinberg really dialed back the CG, focusing less on spectacle & more on intimate, powerful character-driven drama. James McAvoy & Michael Fassbender are splendid as always. Both of them have incredible chemistry & continue to be…
