Jodorowsky, as the Alchemist, speaks to his fictional followers just as he speaks to us, the audience. Those who followed him in a search for enlightenment have come up empty handed: there are no immortal gods, there is no Holy Mountain, there is no secret to happiness.  

I admit that it was very confusing at times, nevertheless it was an okay film imo.
