The Holy Mountain

The Holy Mountain ★★★★★

I knew this film was going to be weird, but DAMN it was weird.

By the first 15 minutes, I almost wanted to stop watching as I thought it was just weird for the sake of being weird. Quickly however, I got on board and I fell in love with the film.

The Holy Mountain
BRILLIANTLY makes statements about marriage, corporations, legislature, governments, propoganda, and those themes are just subthemes to the overall message of the film: enlightenment. It's presented in a way I've never seen before, there's just SO much to take from the film that it left me overwhelmed. Not to mention quite possibly one of the most genius uses of a fourth wall break ever; the ending will stick with me forever. It's a crazy, symbolic, allegorical, and surrealistic piece of art and I love it.
