Attack the Block ★★★★

71/100

One of the few films I saw in 2011 about which I didn't write anything at the time (because I saw it right before I left for TIFF). Made a note suggesting I had something to say about its fascinating racial politics, but not sure what I was thinking of—maybe the way early scenes seem to deliberately play into negative stereotypes that'll later be subverted. Been six years since my sole viewing, so it's fuzzy now—I should really take a second look, given how much I enjoyed it. (Trivia: I saw this film sitting next to Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who I'd met two minutes earlier. He dug it.)
