Decalogue VI. ★★★★★

Mistress to the great ideal
The maid of lust
Steals away the bride's content
But the pleasure is not the love

When leaning in the doorway
She whispers, "Why not ask for more?"
And the bed creaks beneath
And the window leaks that painting Eve

And the snake snidely slides
And the woman softly cries
And the Lord comes in mystery
With the thought of: "Thou shalt not commit adultery."

This rivals Kieslowski's best work. No doubt. Amazing portrayal of love. Thoughtfully examined in the most visceral way possible. This is the second time I've seen some strong Hitchcock influences in the Dekalog as well.

I'm excited to see the full length feature of this.
