Brendan Michaels’s review published on Letterboxd:
I decided to buy the Blu-Ray for this out of the blue yesterday, I hadn’t had much motivation to watch a movie for a while. I thought it would be a good idea to put it in while editing, I’d have something to keep my mind off of the tediousness and frustration of the project I was working on. But about 10 Minutes into the film I had completely forgotten that I was editing and was sucked into the beauty of Chinatown. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Los Angeles is the most beautiful city in film. Everything about this film is mesmerizing and enrapturing. Polanski and Towne suck you into the story and never let you go. Easily one of the greatest pieces of cinema ever made, Chinatown must be seen by everyone.
