Brendan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Cinema doesn't need an explanation. It doesn't need to answer the questions it asks or even have answers in the first place. It's where the impossible can happen, where a song can make you cry your eyes out even if you don't know what they're singing. Where a cheesy drama scene becomes touching and erotic. Cinema asks the questions and the answers are left to us. The film isn't giving us something, it's what we take out of the experience and what makes film magical, it's showing us something and we just have to find out for ourselves what it is. That's the magic of Mulholland Drive.
