I'm not usually a fan of holiday movies but I was feeling weirdly inclined and I'm glad that there are so many focused around fucked up families that are more truthful than festive.
Honestly I picked this one because of how many irate Christians left scathing reviews about its lack of values on Netflix.
It isn't an amazing movie, but it hit the spot. The idea is that basically you shouldn't burden yourself with harboring hatred for other people being fucked up; everyone is fucked up. There is no guidebook for life; but ideally don't be an asshole.
I will say that I kept expecting WORSE stuff to happen, and i'm a little disappointed that it didn't, because actually getting to Christmas seemed to take for fucking ever.
Solid acting though.
