Impressed with how creepy this is—surprisingly genuinely very scary, at least in its first act! But still somehow didn’t do too much for me, once the action kept running around in circles. Idk, I get why so many like this but these nihilistic home invasion movies don’t really resonate with me. Also, why are there so many sequels in development?? I don’t need to see that (Valerie Cherish)!

Darker than I expected—both tonally and literally. I liked the lights out gimmick. This was, mercifully, less an on-the-nose Gen Z satire than the trailer and press tour lead me to believe. I don’t think I hated this as much or thought it was quite as self indulgent as A Ghost Story but it just didn’t hit for me. Although there were a few transcendent moments (the green knight himself, the uncanny giants, the whole final sequence) the whole thing is just lowkey a bore…
I feel like there’s a better movie in here with some more rigorous pruning of some of the sequences which feel just like overly stylish and self…
