Having just rewatched 2049 it is noticeable how the cityscapes hold up when compared to Villeneuve's digital renditions.
This is probably Scott's greatest contribution to cinema due to the compelling emotive elements. This is a genuine future-noir combining the romance of Bogie and Bacall with conceivable lo-fi tech.
and Rutger Hauer remains transcendent. Fragile and powerful. Shimmering in the rain.
