To this day I legitimately cannot comprehend how one of the greatest action adventure blockbusters of the 21st century has a 53% on Rotten Tomatoes when critics hand out positive reviews to every single MCU movie like candy on Halloween.

It’s similarly low stakes to LUCA. There are a few too many “oh it was all just a misunderstanding” moments which definitely holds it back. But then elsewhere this is not the case… Characters act incorrectly, and need to change! What a concept! The conceit of Mirabel not having a gift could VERY easily end in a meaningless…

Imagine if in Lord of the Rings, instead of leading the mission to destroy the One Ring, Gandalf said, “You know Sauron is kind of a meanie, but the REAL problem is Eru Illuvatar.
