i have never conceptualized a flying saucer as a living being. i've only ever thought of them as a means of transport because that is what media has always presented them as. there's something cool about turning that preconceived notion on its head and being like, "what if we're completely wrong when we've assumed we're right? what if we're looking at things entirely the wrong way?"
