After watching Taika Watiti’s career skyrocket with Thor Ragnarok it was nice to go back and see one of his more grounded film. I’m not used to seeing Taika play am I likable character but he did a great job at playing one that actually had some depth. He had a reason to act the way he does and you symphasize with him even though you can’t condone his actions. In fact, all of the characters are well written and…

Stop motion is one of the most under appreciated art styles out there. The skill and care it takes to craft every frame is unimaginable and you have to give Wes Anderson major props to make not one, but two great films using this style. I am very afraid many people won’t see it due to the art style and that is a real shame. As for the actual movie, it’s great. The visuals are obviously spectacular and are the…

I’ve only seen two Stanley Kubrick films and I’ve given them both 5 stars. I need to watch every film this man has ever made as soon as possible.

Going into this movie I was cautiously optimistic. I heard it was based off a terrible book and all the trailers made it look like CGI nonesense with its only draw being references from movies. It did have decent reviews and it was directed by Stephen Spielberg so I did have some hope.
I am happy to say that I ended up really enjoying this movie. I was scared it would just be cameo after cameo from every character Spielberg…

Can we just admire the fact that Netflix announced and released an anticipated movie in the span of 3 hours? It astounds me how that is even possible in today’s world. As for the actual movie, I enjoyed it. It was probably the worst of the 3 but it was still loads of fun. I’m glad they put it on Netflix because I would have probably been disappointed if I had time to get hype and go to the theater…

Great scary movie. Doesn't just rely on jump scares but creates a creepy atmosphere. All the child actors were great, specifically Richie who was hilarious. I like how it doesn't shy away from showing violence towards kids like at the beginning with Richie. The only problem was a couple of the kids didn't get too much characterization specifically the black kid.
