exploitation by way of Douglas Sirk. captures that sleaze of 70’s gay NYC better than anyone else could. naturalistic to a point that i felt like i was watching home movies. just a bunch of friends hanging out turning tricks for cash. it felt so authentic. which is what I love about Andy Milligan. he also understood the inherent fagginess of melodrama! what a genius!!!!
