The logic sort of pans out! Given the believable setup, I wish it were even scarier.

The Dark and the Wicked 2020
Bryan Bertino has a true gift for making anything a stranger at your doorstep says sound absolutely bone-chilling. (In The Strangers it was "Is Tamara here?") I would've liked a little more context for the relationships of the people onscreen, and a little more interaction. It was more quiet than it needed to be. But still a magnificent setting, and Marin Ireland is always amazing.

How did the creators interpret the response to the first film as "we need more of these bros"? Whereas the original film blends in documentary aspects with solid success, this was a C-level celebrity victory lap with a handful of boring scares thrown in. A competitive eating segment? What?
