I have a wild theory about this film.
Is this movie about toxic suppressed sexuality?Pattinson's character was in love with the man that he killed, he's riddled with guilt and grief. Dafoe's character is an older version of Pattinson, hence why they're both called Thomas, they're the same person! Cult + Time = Religion
The Witch is fucking brilliant. The best horror film I've seen since Under The Shadow! The pacing, the score, the feeling of isolation, the symbolism, the cinematography, the lighting, the performances, everything felt so measured and deliberate yet so natural.
