• The Bourne Supremacy

    The Bourne Supremacy

The second entry in the Bourne Trilogy carries on the mystery surrounding Treadstone and further develops the overarching narrative by introducing several new key characters; this film is again a very good action film and I like how they didn’t feel the need to add a ton more action in this one. There is more action but not a whole lot of it - once again Matt Damon is great in this and in this film you see Bourne at…

  • The Bourne Identity

    The Bourne Identity

The first instalment in the Bourne series is a really well paced, well acted action film that is one of the best in the genre in my opinion. Right from the bat it gets into the predicament Jason is in and introduces him really well; Matt Damon is great in this movie and so is the supporting cast, the action sequences are good though not as frequent as the later films, that’s not necessarily a bad thing though as the…

    Deep Blue Sea

Used to really enjoy this film when I was a kid especially because I’ve always loved sharks, and in rewatch all these years later I have to say this is actually pretty good. There is genuine suspense in this and while it’s obviously a B movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously there is some scary moments and also some good comedy. There’s definitely a strong sense of claustrophobia in this film and they nailed that aspect. Overall this is a very fun action film and one of the better shark films, even if it doesn’t excel in certain areas

  • The Emperor's New Groove

    The Emperor's New Groove

By far one of the best Disney films I’ve ever seen , I can’t believe how underrated this is; the character development is great and even though the story is fairly simple compared to some other stories it works exceedingly well because of the humour throughout and amount of jokes - this is probably the funniest animated film I’ve ever seen. Kronk is probably my favourite Disney character ever!

  • Aladdin

First time seeing this actually, may have seen it when I was younger but I didn’t remember any of it beforehand. This is a really great animated movie and this style of animation is really cool, there’s some really slick animation especially in the scene where the Genie first sings; also Rob Williams performance is one of the best I’ve ever seen in an animation, he was absolutely amazing. The only thing about this film is it didn’t have the…

  • Ratatouille

For sure one of Pixar’s greatest animated films - you could tell there was so much passion and thought behind this film and the way it all wraps up is so satisfying. By far one of the greatest animated films there has been, just proving for me that Pixar really might be at the top when it comes to animation.

  • Tangled

One of the more entertaining Disney films I’ve seen by far, this film is a really great time and makes you feel like you’re on an adventure; the voice acting is really good all round and there is genuinely a lot of funny moments in this.

  • The Departed

    The Departed

Really well paced with a great narrative, and all round good performances - my favourite being Jack Nicholson. I love how this film pulls no punches and how the last act truly shocks you; in my opinion this is one of Scorsese’s best films and it doesn’t surprise me it won best picture.

  • The Shining

    The Shining

One of the first films that really got me into the horror genre, this film is so eerie and creepy throughout and it doesn’t let up , feels like you’re in a trance watching this and I can see why it’s regarded as one of the best films in the genre and possibly ever

  • What We Do in the Shadows

What We Do in the Shadows

My man Taika with one of the beat vampire films ever, so funny

  • Whiplash

Crazy how a film about drumming in a jazz band is more suspenseful than most horror/thriller films; this is an absolutely banging film

  • The Shawshank Redemption

    The Shawshank Redemption

In my opinion this fully deserves the praise it gets, the storytelling was unbelievable and the performances were just so good all round. I know some people think this film is overrated but I fully believe it’s an easy 5 star, just amazing storytelling and characters
