    Army of the Dead

    ★★★½

Army Of The Dead is better than I remembered.

It’s far too long, but some of the zombie-killing sequences are excellent, and Dave Bautista is a solid lead.

A sequel (directed by Zack Snyder) would be welcome.

    Mission: Impossible - Fallout

    ★★★★½

A good action film has one or two set pieces that stand out. Mission: Impossible - Fallout has five or six, including:

    • The best skydiving sequence since Moonraker.
    • The best toilet fight since True Lies.
    • The best motorbike chase since The Matrix Reloaded.

  • Roma

    Roma

Roma is a chore to sit through. It is shapeless, meandering and painfully slow. The camerawork is a bit repetitive (you are in for a treat if you like slow, horizontal pans). Almost every scene drags. Some scenes feel endless.
