    Dune

    ★★★

Dune is impressive in many ways, but it didn’t hold my attention, and it didn't make me care about any of the characters. After 90 minutes or so, I just wanted it to end. Sorry, Denis!

Trinity driving a motorbike *against* traffic on a busy motorway = one of the best vehicle chases of all time.

    Mission: Impossible - Fallout

    ★★★★½

A good action film has one or two set pieces that stand out. Mission: Impossible - Fallout has five or six, including:

    • The best skydiving sequence since Moonraker.
    • The best toilet fight since True Lies.
    • The best motorbike chase since The Matrix Reloaded.

  • Roma

    Roma

Roma is a chore to sit through. It is shapeless, meandering and painfully slow. The camerawork is a bit repetitive (you are in for a treat if you like slow, horizontal pans). Almost every scene drags. Some scenes feel endless.
