7/10 - After seeing the poster I thought this was a comedy. I was wrong... let me begin by saying I love that Halsey looking chick and I hope I get the chance to see her in future roles because she's captivating.
Julieta isn't exactly a daring story but it's exploration of grief, familial ties and growth are moving. I love that it unexpectedly had an underlying lgbt+ story too.
It's composed wonderfully in the way its shot and the music but what really holds it together are the two main performances. Both wildly different but profound in their own right.
Before my move to Spain in September I've been trying to watch more Spanish films to help my understanding of the language and culture, so I'm glad I stumbled on this.
