Vision/Desire/Manipulation/Self Re-Creation

Based on a syllabus project centered around Vertigo and Laura Mulvey's “Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema” that I did in an undergrad film course.
The basic idea was to look at films centered around obsession with the image (filmic, romantic, fantasy) and a protagonist trying to re-create themself or another in that image, with the past intruding on the present.
I hadn't come across Miriam Bale's "Persona Swap" at the time, but it also covers similar ground, focused more on women's relationships.
