i don’t remember the first two hours feeling amateur but wow, the awkward transitions, unusual music choices, and uncomfortable dialogue really remind that pta was only 26 when he made this, very influenced by countless directors and in need of his own style. but of course the last half-hour demonstrated pta’s true potential as a filmmaker and all the success that would come in the future with truly anxiety-inducing scenes and a perfect ending for the cherry on top. a decent rise and fall story but a serious staple of the time. pta ranking changing hella lately.
