My star ratings are based on nothing and I go back to change them all the time.
Maika Monroe is terrific, and I liked how she was constantly framed to show us how isolated and out of place her character feels. The movie is well shot, looks fantastic, and has a great sound design. And I like how they touch upon the idea that not only is she afraid of a potential serial killer, but also has to confront what kind of protection to expect from the people she trusts. Director Chloe Okuno doesn't play it up…
Most of the time the time it feels like the plot is not advancing anywhere, but still found myself enjoying it overall because of the luridness of the story. I liked the twist too, but mostly because at that point I was just glad there was something happening. Absolutely loved the music by Roberto Pregadio.
