    Kong: Skull Island knows what it is. It's a big, dumb, CGI creature fest. The movie spends the minimal amount of time possible to start the plot then rushes to get to the island. Once the action starts, it just keeps coming.

    The cinematography in this movie is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors, the occasional slo-mo, and the fantastic shot choices.

    I wouldn't have minded more soldiers…

    Primer is a low budget, high concept sci-fi film that relies on intelligence rather than visuals and action. There is a lot of science mumbo jumbo and eventually different timelines that it's hard to keep track of what's going on.

    You can tell Primer is low budget. The acting is a little stiff and awkward in places, the shot composition resembles a fresh film student at times, and the forced exposition to save money hampers some of the effect…

    When a movie can make me laugh almost non-stop, it has to be seriously funny. Edgar Wright's send-up to gamer/nerd culture is one of the funniest and funnest movies I've ever seen.

    As a big fan of Wright you can expect a few things from him, quick impactful editing, rapid fire intelligent jokes, and a good amount of well shot action scenes. Scott Pilgrim takes all this and kicks it up to 11.
