They totally had a low key Evil Dead reference in the forest.
There’s a part where they’re literally pretending to be in water because it’s a digital effect. Then when they’re finally “under water” everything is on strings. Why does the shark have three eyes? Why does the shark have a gun? I have so many questions.
Also, it says it’s 90 minutes on here. It’s actually 112.
I paid money for this.
Big Tuna does a solid first attempt at directing, but I was left underwelhmed at the end. I might just be jaded from watching too many horror movies though. The monsters reminded me of a mix between the lickers from Resident Evil and the creatures from The Faculty. I wish they dove more into the origin of them besides newspaper clippings in the background and fleshed them out a bit more.
