My Soul to Take

Really interesting at the outset, yet it becomes an INFURIATING slog by the time the very plot-laden and strangely simplistic last act rolls around. I believe that this had the potential to be a wildly frenetic and personal late work from Craven, but it is ultimately caught somewhere between being that and being just another piece of tasteless 21st century bore-ror. Too weird to be totally forgotten, but far too flawed and unspectacular to be remembered as one of Craven’s greats.
