Letterboxd — Your life in film

Eh. Sylvester still has nice arms.

Whereas the first First (haha) Blood was an exciting action thriller with plenty of substance, this is just the kind of mindless 80s action shit people expected to see the first time around. But it’s definitely fun so no complaining here.

Nick Nolte is so good in this. Tbf he’s always usually so good but damn, he is fantastic as a despicable father.

Raya and the Last Dragon is the kind of Disney I always love to see. Gorgeously animated (one of their most beautiful looking films recently), skillfully voiced (Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina are beyond excellent), boosted by heartfelt drama, an uplifting score by James Newton Howard, and passionate world building and optimism that heavily reminds me of fantastic Western animation like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Steven Universe, and Amphibia, I really loved it and will definitely put it on again asap.

One of the funniest comedies of its time. I miss comedies like this with wall to wall jokes and performances that are either over the top or take themselves too seriously.
