• Under the Tuscan Sun

    Under the Tuscan Sun

the more wrinkles i get, the more this movie makes sense to me. also i’m going to tuscany in 10 days, see you never maybe…

  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

the origin story being built throughout this movie makes it more of a slog than it should be, but that slog is saved by its genre-defined fight sequences which are truly fun and pulse-pounding.

  • The Suicide Squad

    The Suicide Squad

an indie punk take on the suicide squad was exactly what this universe needed. this was as funny and ridiculous as it needed to be, yet still so well done to be taken seriously.

  • The Princess Diaries

    The Princess Diaries

come on girls it’s a ball, not a snake! back in formation!

  • Silence

jesus christ. literally.  i can’t believe i have to go throughout the rest of my life having seen this movie. in all it’s grandeur and audacity to speak about one of the largest and historic institutions known to man in a challenging place at a specific time, this somehow succinctly captures the theme of letting go of selfishness to serve human life.

    that makes marty my savior.

  • The Father

    The Father

a jumbled and chaotic mess for a reason. powerful, yet confusing, but in the end it is all on purpose. i just am not convinced the journey was worth the payoff. it should be noted its largest strength lies in its central performance.

  • Respect

the weirdest thing about this extremely by the book biopic is that it acknowledges the most incredible and devastating trauma this woman went through as a young girl, and then in its final analysis, fails to outright verbally acknowledge the hardship as a reason for Aretha’s long term demons. is it up to the audience to deduce it as her reason, or is the film implying something else? i couldn’t tell you, and neither could RESPECT.

  • Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage

Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage

scrolling through reviews reading white boys being sad, saying if the doc was fair it would solely blame the organizers…… lol yeah sure but what a cop out to decades of *this* behavior

  • I May Destroy You

    I May Destroy You

    well that’s genius

  • The Green Knight

    The Green Knight

when will i stop thinking about this movie.. place your bets

  • Pig

i mean the truth is is that you can go into this thinking it’s one thing, and you may be right, but at the same time be missing something. the only thing i know for sure at this moment is that a best actor campaign would be worth it.

  • Fear Street: 1666

    Fear Street: 1666

this might be a review for the last part of the trilogy or a review for all three. kind of doesn’t matter. the third part to this story is so ridiculously fun, it validates the dredging pieces through parts 1 & 2. an incredible payoff to something that is both time filling and entertaining.
